If you stepped outside today and noticed that familiar, mouth-watering scent of fried dough and popcorn wafting through the Texas air, your senses aren't tricking you. An Ellis County staple has officially returned to light up our summer nights.
The Waxahachie Lions Club Summer Carnival is up and running! Whether you are looking for the perfect family night out, a nostalgic date night, or just an excuse to eat your weight in funnel cakes, the carnival grounds are the place to be this week.
The Vital Details: What You Need to Know
Because there is nothing worse than packing up the kids only to realize you missed the gates, here is the quick rundown to help you plan your evening:
When: Nightly from now through Sunday, June 14, 2026
Time: Gates open at 5:00 PM and the fun runs late into the evening (usually wrapping up around 11:00 PM).
Where: The local carnival grounds at 1000 N. Highway 77, Waxahachie, TX (in front of Coleman Junior High).
The Crew: Hosted by our local Lions Club with rides and attractions provided by the crowd-favorite Triple T Amusements.

The Lions Club Carnival strikes that perfect chord of classic Americana. It’s large enough to offer genuine thrills but small enough that you won't lose your family in a sea of thousands.

From spinning rides that challenge your stomach to gentle attractions perfect for toddlers, Triple T Amusements has brought a great lineup this year. If you plan on riding more than a couple of things, unlimited ride wristbands are available for purchase daily—offering the best bang for your buck.

The midway is lined with all the traditional carnival games you know and love. Whether you are trying to shoot a hoop, pop a balloon with a dart, or test your aim at the ring toss, there are plenty of chances to win a giant stuffed animal (or at least have a blast trying).
